Our Classrooms
Wishview Children's Center operates year-round from 7:00am - 5:50pm. Our awesome school has a positive, energetic vibe! Magic happens within our six awesome classroom groups. Students move up when space is available and individual children are developmentally ready.
The Dreamkeepers (Infants to 18 months)
A cheerful room where cherished infants and toddlers experience feeling safe and loved at school. This classroom is one of the most spacious infant rooms in Greensboro and also has a shady outdoor deck just for babies. Parents and teachers share a collaborative relationship focused on individualized feeding, diapering, playtime and celebrating developmental milestones!
Class Composition: 10 children + 3 core teachers
The Magicians (12 months to 24 months)
Toddlers love to move and explore! The Magicians classroom is a giggly place where children are introduced to group time and playing in learning centers. Here you will see little ones playing with puzzles, dolls, pots and pans, toy cars, musical instruments, and building with blocks. Teachers keep Magicians busy by encouraging them to talk, learn childhood songs, scribble and make handprints, listen to stories, dance, jump, balance, dig, and climb.
Class Composition: 12 children + 3 core teachers
The Pilots (2 year-olds)
Two year-olds start their morning with warm greetings and happy hugs. The Pilots are always eager to see their friends and find about each day’s activities. Social skills and vocabulary are growing fast at this age while children learn to manage their emotions, share, take turns and fully participate in group circle time. The Pilots enjoy art, dramatic play, and a large book collection.
Class Composition: 14 children + 2 core teachers + 1 floating teacher
The Innovators (Older 2 year-olds and 3 year-olds)
In this classroom, you will notice lots of singing, dancing, pretending, making things with small building toys, painting, play dough, and a fascination with nature. Gaining independence with putting on coats and using the restroom, as well as learning about shapes, colors, counting, opposites and letters really takes off in this classroom. Some children will begin to draw recognizable faces and the joy of loving books grows strong.
Class Composition: 16 children + 2 core teachers + 1 floating teacher
The Artists (3 and 4 year-olds)
This class is well named considering the love this age group has for originality. Artists often love to speak their mind and stand their ground. They are interested in experimenting and creating with other children. During center time they enjoy putting things together, taking things apart, comparing, talking, drawing, writing, mixing things up and getting messy!
Class Composition: 18 children + 2 core teachers + 1 floating teacher
The Engineers (4 to 6 year-olds)
Preschoolers are fun to be with because their creativity is grand! The engineers enjoy using a wide variety of drawing tools, collage elements, paints and sculpture materials. During this last year before going to kindergarten, reading, writing, and math skills increase rapidly. These children have class rules and jobs which help them take responsibility for their behavior choices and the organization of their classroom. Engineer graduates have strong friendships and they are kindergarten ready!
